"We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch it, we are going back from whence we came."

- JFK

At the northern most part of the 18 mile barrier island stands Old Barney, the resilient red and white lighthouse. There’s native beach plants and brush throughout the walk to the beach. Once you reach the end of the sea grass speckled dunes, you can feel the cool misty air and view the southern shoreline for miles. In between Barnegat Bay and the Atlantic Ocean we’ve spent many summers swimming, crabbing, biking, fishing, picnicking, and wandering from bayside to seaside.

This is Barnegat Light, New Jersey, a summer escape for years to come.
